- Did you know that adults using illicit drugs are far more likely to seriously consider suicide than the general adult population according to a new report by the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA). The report finds that 3.9 percent of the nation’s adult population aged 18 or older had serious thoughts about suicide in the past year, but that the rate among adult illicit drug users was 9.4 percent. Columbia County Connects meetings are held every other month at the Columbia County Law Enforcement Center located at 711 E. Cook Street in Portage. Meetings are held from 1pm-2pm. Upcoming meeting dates in 2014 are;
November 19. The 2015 meeting dates are; Jan. 28, March 25, May 27, July 22, Sept. 23, and Nov. 18. For further details, please refer to the calendar located at the bottom of the page.
